Cylinder Base Gasket Removal, Best way to get the gasket off?

My baby just got a bore and I am getting ready to install the top end. The base gasket is a pain to get off! Is there some kind of spray to loosen or maybe heat it? Let me know

good ole razor blades do the trick fine for me

What I did with my bike was use the razor blade to get the big stuff off with out putting deep scratches in the cylinder or cases. Then I use my little air sander with a little 3" wheel with a soft pad to clean up an make it look like new. The pad is specially made for aluminum metal by 3M. I put a rag around the hole of the rod and then got the vaccum out and cleaned everything up by also blowing it with compressed air.
