You have to bring the stock sleeve to a machine shop and have them make it the right width for the 426 piston, you don't have to touch the head.

Well I cracked case on the 508 not having my swinger bolt tight so I bought a bottom end on eBay a jug on eBay and a J E 426 piston I bought through DRG bored it and put my ported head on it from 508 with my T/C GNCC cam and 41 FCR 200 main and Looney Tune Dual Exhaust and made a few pulls .
Not bad for a pump gas motor from Junk Yard Parts
