what do i need to do

its been burning a lot of oil for a while and it just hardley smokes at decel, and i can start it up for 10 sec. and put my hand behind the pipe and it will spit oil out. what do i need to do. does it need just valve seals or rings or what

did you do any mods to it? and then this resulted in it? or did it jus start spitting oil?

How many hours are on that motor? Mine did the same thing when my rings went.

nothing but pipe and filter, so u think it is best for me to change rings and valve seals

Yeah, rings and seals and new gaskets should solve your problem. Inspect the valves for anything unusual while you have the head off.

how hard is it to do that myself. i have good mechanical skills so if i buy a service manual is it pretty easy to do.

I can't believe a 2005 is spitting oil, or has ring problems, or valve seal problems:huh How much oil do you have to add after a ride?

well i went and rode for 7 hours last weekend and had to add 1\2 quart

Did you re-jet after the pipe and filter?

yes i did, the plug looks perfect

yeah rings are bad. I'd check everything else like others said while it's apart.
