I just pulled the elka dualrate off the back of my 400ex and mounted it in the 450r. It fit nicely and everything but I was wondering if this is going to work well or not? I know it will probably have to be revalved eventually but is it an option to just swap the shocks?

I don't see why you would need to revalve it considering that the 400ex is a little heavier than the 450r. That said it may not feel perfect like a 450 shock would but i would consider it a huge step up. From stock that is.

I believe the 450's shock is alittle bit shorter. Measure the two and compare. Also you might trying calling Laz. I'm sure he can setup that shock for the 450 is Elka lets him.

the 400ex shock is longer than the shock on a 450r. Does your 450r sit higher than before? What year is your 450r?

Your going to have to have some sag in it to stop it from kicking.
