crf 450 problems

I have a crf450 motor that i bought. The previous owner said that the put a new piston in it, I am convinced that he f'd up the timing when he put it back together. I may be wrong but I can jump on the kicker with all my weight and it wont move the first time, i have to do it twice. Can someone give me some advice before i tear the engine apart to fix the timing?

yup i would say that it either jumped time or he assembled it wrong. there is a chance it could be the decomp but it would need to be way out. its not that bad to fix weather you need to adjust the decomp or re algien the timing you still need to remove the valve cover. its really no big deal. probably take you longer to get the stuff out of the way and take off the cover then acutally set the timing.

Ur timings off i had the same problem with mine i reset the timing and it was fine..

yep the timing was off a good bit, it kicks soo much better now. now i cant get a spark:confused:
