If they would just use the WR or YZ motor they would be awesome. The 06/07 YFZ is just the 04/05 with a bigger bore. I've actually been told that the 426 YZ motor with a pipe is faster than the 07 YFZ motor with a pipe. Basically if you take the brand new 450 quad motor out and replace it with the old 426 all stock, you'll ****. I can't say much. I haven't ridden a 450 quad that I would rather have over my old Banshee or 250R. Hence the purchase of the WR. I still would rather have a blue one though and I think the YFZ is the best one for the average joy rider and half-*** racer. The suspension is better than the Honda and has a better all-around motor. No one is going to blow smoke about the 450R to me....I have one.

In addition to the displacement bump (by stroke, not bore), the head porting (and some other things) did change on the 06/07 YFZs vs. the earlier models. The 06/07s got a "hi-velocity" port treatment.
