went to my morotcycle shop to buy a chain and all they had was a kmc chain in stock so i got it and was wondering if they are any good.

I bought a new Red KMC chain off Ebay. I've had it installed now 9 months. No issues and little to no stretching. Plenty strong enough with 7270 pounds of tensile strength.
