Hi everyone, I have searched the website for a while and couldnt find what i was looking for. I was wondering two things: Whats a good frame to use for a crf,or trx450 motor and can use mostly 250r parts(suspension and such) and second, in general how reliable are these kind of hybrid quads with periodic maintence??
Thanks for any help!

lone star or houser for a frame but teh best quads to build into a hybrid is 400ex or 250r.

They need valves adjusted all the time or else they wont start and oil changes constantly cause they make oil bad fast. They run pritty hot too. As long as you keep changing the oil they will be reliable as any other 450 quad. Dont get a 450r motor thats a wast of money get the crf or yz motor. Their much more powerful and lighter and cheeper than the 450r/yfz450 motor.

When you say the valves have to be adjusted constantly, how often is that time wise???

Should make it to 30 hours before needing to adjust.

on the honda 450, if you replace the valve train with a kibblewhite setup, it will solve your hard starting problem. I have ridden this whole season and havent touched my valves.
