THIS SITE SUCKS...signing in that is

I don't know if it's just me but I can't stand the way this site kicks me off all the time. My computer does this....my moms computer in a completely different house does this...and the computers at my college do this. If I sit idle for a couple minutes, like looking up something else, it kicks me off. I click reply and it takes me to a write up...after writing what I need to I click "post reply"...then it says there is no thread selected or to sign in again. By then the information I typed is gone. I have to copy (control C) everything before I post...because 85% of the time I am kicked off and lose all of what I typed.

Fu.k this! It is so aggrivating to want to help someone but have to go through hell each time I try. I log in on the home page. I try to use one page only to reply, post, and search. I also try to open new tabs or windows so that I can see different posts at the same time. Sometime I can post in these other tabs and sometimes I cannot. Most of the time I cannot. Even as I type this I am remembering to copy what I type.

I am a member of so many different Forums it's not even funny. THIS SITE is the only one I have problems with. Not Bluetraxx, S10forums, trx450r.org, 450rhq, z400central, etc etc etc etc.

Plus now I can't add smilies to this cause they all want to be at the end. Paste and coping smilies sucks balls...fu.k that. God I need to vent. OK OK, now highlight and copy everything...

then why is it that I can be on several different computers and have this happen on each one? I am already signed in, yet it is constantly asking me to re-sign in. I can leave my computer for days and come back to exactly what I left on these other forums. They all remember me and never sign me out. I can type for a day straight and not have a problem posting it. I can have a 100 windows and tabs open, with that forum in each new window or tab.....post in each window or tab...search and read in each.... do whatever the hell I want for however long I want....without a problem.

check your privacy settings or to see if you blocked the site from allowing u to go on there. The site got blocked somehow once and i looked at my settings and it said i had blocked exriders.com. and i took it off the list and it finally let me stay logged in..

the thing is i forget how to get to my internet privacy settings.. its been a while.

well, just posted this without a problem, I think, I haven't clicked on "submit reply" yet.

I am on a college computer right now actually. Setting are not changeble. I'm sure they didn't set this computer up to block Exrider.com. lol

I can visit porn if I cared to. I've never messed with any of the settings. My computer at home is my own and no one lives with me so no one is messing with it. I use my moms sometimes when I'm using her laundry room. She's never messed with setting and my brother hasn't either. Why would so many different computers all be set up the same to piss me off?

Well I need to go to my next class. I prolly don't even need to worry about loging out from this computer, the site will prolly do it for me.

the signing in thing happens to me to. just about every time i type a reply i have to copy and then paste after i log back in and find where i was again. it happens even if im looking at one page to long to and i go to the next page i cant see the attached files without logging back on. it does get annoying. i cant figure it out either:confused:

thats weird. mine does it after like 5 min of non active use. i also get the database error screen were i have to hit refresh like 5 times before it will open the page

I'm pretty sure you can just go to user cp, edit options (or profile, i forget) and click "use cookies" or something like that. I have it set like that and I never have to log in except when my virus scan clears all my computers cookies like once every 2 weeks.

actually this seems to be working, how come when I contacted Exriders they told be some completely different thing, that of course didn't help, I told them, and they couldn't help me further. O well, time will tell

What browser are you using? Sounds like a cookie issue. Do you have something installed that blocks cookies.
More than likely you are hitting the session timeout value forcing the check of the cookie which doesn't exist, therefore your computer thinks you logged out. Usually the session timeout is quite long but it is specified in the php.ini file on the server so it can be set to any value that the admin wants. The lower value does improve security at the expense of user friendlyness.

I don't have a problem with the sign-in , but I get the Data Base Error a LOT lately ... for the last 2 months .

That and it takes forever for the page to load . ALl other sites work fine , it's just on here where it takes litterally minutes before something comes on the screen .

I had noticed lately the session timeout has reduced considerably.(I think that's what it is)

Is this something on my end? If so how do I adjust it?

this site works ok for me. but it does give me the most problems of any forum im on. seems to hesitate a lot when i look at different topics. i have 3meg high speed. i dont think all the scrolling and flashing banners are needed. not my site so ill live with it.

This is a server side setting. Just enable cookies and the problem should go away.
