trx 400 vs ltz 400

Hey all, I'm just wondering how good the trx 400 is compared to the ltz 400. Is the trx comparable in power to the ltz? I know the ltz is liquid cooled and the 400 is not. What mods have to be done to make the trx 400 run with the ltz? Thanks

me and my cousin have both of those quads. i got the ex. he has the z. we both have the same mods, just exhaust and air filter. in a drag race we are basicly dead even. 50% of the time i win and 50% of the time he wins.the only thing is that the z400 has better front shocks stock.

My cousin has a KFX 400, at the time all I had was a Big Gun exhaust and K&N filter. I can take a stock 400ex by a few bike lengths and I can take him by 1 1/2 bike lenghts. I weigh about the same as he does, its all rider skill. Stock for stock the Z400 will probably take you. I raced a Z400 with all the baffles and spark arrestor removed. I took him threw the first 3 gears and after that he took a bike length on me.

o yeah, forgot to mention that suzuki put different shocks on in 05'.

i have a stock 04' 400EX and my buddy has a stock 05' KFX400, we're pretty much even though trails and on the track, the only thing he beats me in is a drag race, we even from 1th gear to about 4th and then he starts pulling away into 5th, the EX has a mellow low rev engine while the LTZ/KFX has a higher reving engine and makes more top end power in higher RPM's. the 400EX handles a bit better too than the LTZ/KFX.

I was looking at the raptor 350, and noticed that it is air-cooled also. Would the trx 400 have more power that the 350 raptor? I slowly realized that the trx 400 wasn't made to be some big competitive quad stock like the ltz 400 was. Its just a good machine for messing around on or riding trails, but with the right mods, it can do just about anything.

the Z is not a competitive quad...

the 400ex will smoke a raptor 350


i have rode both the z and EX. IMO the ex is better handling, more torque, more reliable...better when highly modded...i like it better...

i use too ride my friends stock Z when i had my 450 and loved that thing, really a nice quad and i would def take it over the 400 even tho im a big honda fan those thing are really nice too ride.

the raptor 350 is the same thing as the worrior pretty much and a 400ex would smoke a raptor/worrior any day of the week


and i at one point was looking to get a z400 and did't relly think it was that great imo if you put a pipe,a cam and some 450r shocks on a 400ex it is a relly great wheeler and would blow by a z400 easy so i think the 400ex is better imo
