View Full Version : Close to stock jetting question

I just got another 400ex for my girlfriend. I am trying to get it close to stock. So I will have the stock exhaust. The airbox lid on. There is a uni airfilter in the box already so I am going to leave that. What do you think I should use for jets? I would really like some help on where to start guys. Thanks

bump... come on.. is there anyone that can tell me what jets i should run with everything stock except for a uni with airbox lid on. Would I need to jet up for that or would stock pilot and main work fine?

stock should work just fine.

the stock pilot should be fine, but bump the main to a 150.

I was told that this 400ex has stock jets in it. So if the only thing that is not stock in a uni air filter with the lid on then I could leave the stock jets and dont even have to worry about taking the carb out and opening it up then?

If you are keeping the stock airbox lid on then don't worry leave the main stock. But I would call your local dealer and find out what is the stock jet for your location. Dealer will change the main jet depending on their altitude.

i live in mount vernon, ohio that is where i bought mine. it had a 148 jet stock.

Mt Veron! I was born and raised down the road from you. I went to school in Sunbury, Ohio. I still have family back there. We drive right through your town when we go camping out by mohican river.

kool, we camp out at rustic knolls right there in bangs, every weekend from april 15th till october 15th. i ride down at summersett all the time(perrysville forest) and at wayne. i have been camping at mohican b4. i love camping :)
