View Full Version : Rusting Axle???

I have an LSR extended rear axle that is starting to rust.B4 it gets outta control any 1 have any ideas.I was thinking of some sand paper and a couple coats of clear coat!!!

I just sent mine back to lonestar and they fixed it sent it back. It was around 65.00 that would be your best bet last longer..

I just always wipe mine down when I come back from riding, and sometimes I spray wd40 on the rag and then wipe it on the axle and just let it dry that also helps, but mine still looks shiney.

Rub metal polish like Mothers on it and hit it with steelwool then just wipe the extra polish of with a rag and it will look like new.

I read in a magazine to just wrap it with tape while riding then once you clean it take the tape off and it stays nice and shiny, haha mine is starting to in some spots

i dont have an LSR axle, and mines not rusting or anything, just have a question. if i wanted to polish my axle when it gets dull could i use wheel polish made for chrome aftermarket car wheels?

Mothers alluminum polish does just as good. It all polishes metal. It will make a stock axle shine pretty good if you'll take the time to do it.

could i use that on my douglas beadlocks?? i'd like to have that new looking shine back in them
