well are you a big guy or little guy, the smallest i would go in the front would be a 13 and you want bigger in the back. the smaller you go in the front you take the risk of braking your chain. im a big guy i run a 13 in front and a 40 in back. the gearing on that is 3.08.

If your going to be riding in the sand. i would get a 13tooth in the front and if you want more get a bigger in the rear. my friend has a 12 tooth in front and stock in the rear and his about 230lbs and you know what i have and we beat alot of bike at sand mountain.

I'm confused sprockets and gearing. I read the post but i cant understand what to change rear or front:confused:

the smaller you go in front you gain torque and lose topend and the bigger you go in the rear you gain torque. if you drop a tooth in the front its like adding 2 teeth in the rear.
