lookin at a banshee need help

im thinkin about buyin an 02 banshee with a supposed all new moter with an .80 bore hotrod crank and rods racing carbs v force reeds graphic kit ufo plastics and more they are only askin 2g for it does this seem too good to be true to anyone else

sounds like a good deal...u can get banshees dirt cheap these day. if it has a title id get it for sure only thing no more bores left on the motor isnt great. but if it runs good resleeveing isnt that bad. ride it and look it over well.

I would be leary with this .80 over/hot rod crank motor, see if it has any porting if not then look into getting some if you want to run the motor to full potential, Look for what size carb's he has on it for that motor your looking for 29-35mm carb's, if he tell's you stock see if it run's ride it around and such, If your coming off of a 4 stroke then it might feel like it's not running right to you because your use to the power delivery of the thumper so I'd suggest holding on.. :blah: if there isnt any spunk really it might just be a stock motor..Basically just go over the entire quad, a big thing on banshee's is the intakes check them, if it has a boost bottle smash it with a hammer and throw it off a cliff then proceed to your local dealer or ebay and pick up the stock cross over tube, best investment unless you like buying intake's every 5 months :p Check out the rear end see if he has the swing arm alinged correctly if not it causes wear on the bearings and then your looking to replace the bearings. It's just like any other quad other then that. Also while your there make sure to write down what main jet, pilot jet and needle clip position if he know's..

For that price even if it was hurt here and there you could easyily dump up to 500 dollars in it, clean it up and still sell it for more then what your paying for it.

If you can take detailed pictures of everything and post them. :cool:
