View Full Version : aftermarket hood for 450r and keep headlight

I am looking to buy a new hppd for the 450, but want something that doesnt require me to tale the headlight off.. Does anyone one if a company makes a hood like this??

u can custimize ure plastic at meijer.com and get ure hood the way that u want it...k

Quadtech has just came out with a new hood that doesnt require you to take off your headlight.

I seen that, but it only works with the 06-07.. The one they have for the 04-05 is ugly and looks pretty much like stock.. I have an 04..

i trimmed about 3/4 inch off bottom of my carbon quadtech ,and mounted a 06 light under there ,and bought used light off ebay ,and new brackets for 06 from honda ,was all bolt on for 05 ,had to drill 4 holes on top of shock mount and fastened brackets with 3/16 rivits and stock mounting bolts that were there,i think new brackets from honda about $35.00 and ebay headlight $60.00,i didnt have to cut 05 brackets off frame,headlight cleared ok,and wire plug plugged right in

piece trimmed off hood,just used mask tape for a line ,and trimmed with air hacksaw,then sanded front edge of hood to deburr rough edges with sand paper so carbon wouldnt splinter
