Has anyone heard of turning front rims around so they sit out wider? I guy i know said he did it just wondering would it put a strain on the rims or front hubs?

yes some have done it, but i would not advise it.

it will cause alot of feedback through the bars, and more strain on front end parts. also more likely to bend a tie rod due to the extra leverage on them. if you want to go wider, do it the right way with a-arms.

I tried it on my banshee once and was not impressed with the way it tracked. A whole lot of unwanted feedback in the bars just as stated above. If I were you I would not waist my time and effort with it.

You would also have to move the valve stems. They won't clear the brake assemblies.

i did it. you have to move the valve stem to the other side and plug the old hole. it works fine for riding around flat areas, really makes a difference in handling, but in deep trails the wheels will catch and can bend tie rods. i really dont do any jumping but if you do i wouldnt flip the wheels. so depending on where you ride it can be a cheap mod or an expensive break.
