hey guys this may sound stupid but what is the diffrence between the 250r and the 450r theres alot of 250r stuff on here and i just want to know whats the deal with them is the center of gravity diffrent or what is it that makes it the top dog frame?

They're nothing a like. The only thing I can think of that would switch out might be the swinger and maybe steering stem.

well what makes them so good.

What makes the 250r's good is that they have a very low center of gravity which makes turning, and handling the bike just easier. They also have 2 stroke motors that are very easy to work on and rebuild. The 450rs have 4 stroke motors which contain alot more components in them which makes them harder to rebuild. The 250r just has very good ergonomics and has unlimited modifications that can be done to them.

now let me ask you this would a 250r chassis with a 450r would it be a good trail/weekend warrior?

Yes,it would but I would probably just buy a 450r because by the time you buy the aftermarket frame to fit the 450r motor in and all the other parts to make it a hybrid it will cost just as much or more as a used 450r. But yes It would be a good trail and weekend warrior machine but I wouldnt use it for anything other than mx racing. You cannot fit a 450r engine inside of a stock 250r frame because the 450r engine is too tall.

its about the same size.I think it might be a little longer and it definetely sits lower than the 450r stock to stock.

yeah i was looking at pictures of them and it is alot lower. but are there supension parts for it or do you have to use parts from other quads?

Yes, There are many suspension modifications for the trx250r's. I think they are making less now but there are still a wide variety of suspension dealers for the trx250r. Yeah, they look really good too. I have a trx250r and a trx450r and I use my trx250r as my back up bike whenever I go to a race or even just out to the sand dunes. I have a 250r with a esr310 powervalve engine in it and it will beat the new 450's up the sand hills all day. Definitely good bikes and they are still reliable even if they are two strokes. Heres a pic of mine. Its pretty modded up and I love it. Its for sale also.

looks nice but i dont know i am bouncing around on which frame to use i think i am going to use a 450r frame because there alot of upgrades for the frame but it seems like the 250r are good racers.

i seen a z400 motor in a 250r frame on ebay a while back but who knows whats involved.put in a 250r motor or a 350x hybrid.:) you dont want a weak suzook motor in that cahssis, give it a good motor like it deserves:)
