I was on ebay and found 2 MTX 8 in. subs that are in a pre-formed box made of a high performance material (whatever that is). Has anyone dealt with MTX subs or products? I have heard from a couple of friends that they are good and from others that they are bad...looks good to me though. If you have any other recommendations, let me know. I just want some bump, i cant stand the "dull" sound anymore!!Also what sort of amp will i need for these all of you stereo gurus out there??

here they are: 300$ shipped:

MTX makes good things, aslong as you don't abuse them. They will add some bass to your system for sure. Personally I'm not a big fan of 8 inch subs. they are good for tight base response like rock. 10's move more air but do not go very low. I have 12's because they move alot of air and they can have tight response but can hit really low as well. 15's are good for deep base, but not much for anything else. The box that you put the subs in make a huge difference as well. Sealed boxes give you a tighter bass, ported hit low and still hit the highs well, bandpass boxes are deep and boomy.

Bottom line, if you want more bass that sub system will work and look really clean in your truck. If you want more bass, see if they have a 12 inch version.
