450 a-arms on 400?

hey guys, i was woundering if anybody has installed the 04-05 trx 450r a-arms on the 05-06 400 ex using stock 400 shocks and spindles? just want to know if they mount up to frame and stock 400 spindles and shocks will work? and if so what did you have to do anything to make them fit ? one of my ball joints went bad. and i wo i got the 450 complete swinger, axle, brakes, etc. and i nt the whole front end off a 450. want to put the 450r a-arms on to match the back. thanks guys!

450r arms are wider than 400ex arms so they won't fit.

do you mean, its to wide to fit in the mounts on the frame. or you talking about overall stance. because i know it will make the bike one inch wider overall. thanks. you probably all ready know this but i am talking about putting all the a-arms on there. to confert it to a 450r's suspension. and get the 450r shocks at a later date. thanks again.

Will not work. I tried setting my friends 450 arms next to mine. The 450 a arms are about an inch wider at the frame mount up point so theres no way they will fit. Would be really nice if they did though.

You can make them work, but that depends if you want to make some mods to your frame...

if you are just wanting 450r shocks, then get theme. they will work fine with your 400ex stock a-arms. That is what i run, and they work 4 me
