Just picked up a new to mw 2000 400ex with a K&N,stage one hot cam & a rev box as the only mods, it used to have a slipon Hmf and I'am sure it was never rejetted for use with the stock pipe.

My question is which jetting would work best with the stock pipe,I just want a quiet reliable quad and not looking to get every ounce of performance out of it, I already planed on the 42 pilot jet as this thing won't idle for crap when it's cold.

try a 152 or a 155 main and a 42 pilot like you said.

no..too rich for a stock pipe...and the cam hardly makes a difference in jetting...

the stock main is a 148. so i would go back to stock or go to a 150. then i would try a 40 pilot...i think a 42 is too rich off the bottom for a stock piped 400

Just finished pulling the jets It had a 40 pilot and a 158 main the guy I bought it off of said with these jets it would bog at wot at the top of fifth gear in warm weather and he never got it quite right after the cam and slip on were installed.

Yea krt400ex your right I thought he wanted it jetted for the HMF but I see its for the Stock. I guess I have to read more carfully.

Yea a 158 is no doubt way rich, but do what krt400ex said and go with a 150 main and a 40 pilot, but I think you could get away with just the stock pilot.

i agree with the stock pilot...i have never had any cold starting probs with mine...IMO it is better to keep the pilot stock than be rich off the bottom...but some ppl go richer to help with the cold starting problem
