hey guys i need some help mounting my IMS footpegs on my 87 frame. If i go to put them on with the spring in there, it seems impossible to get the sping pushed down far enough to get the pin through it. Heres a pic, you can see how far off the middle of the spring is from the hole that the pin has to go through.

If you had to you could grind on the part that mounts to the frame a little. I would make that my last resort if you cant do it like it is now.

what about turning the spring around, it looks like the spring is in wrong?? For my bikes, I had to switch the springs, right spring on the left peg and left spring on the right peg. Play with the spring some, turn it around, switch the sides. I don't remember what I had to do to make them fit right, exactly. Switching the springs was one of them and for one of my bikes, I had to cut the spring down some.

The key to getting these on is to use a punch that is small enough to fit inside the hole for the peg mount, pegs and spring. Go from the under side of the mount with the punch and line everything (using the punch as leverage) up form there so the pin will slide in. As soon as you get the pin in and started its a breeze. Good luck to you!!!!
