I definently would'nt buy a used jug from someone, you never know what happened to it or what the person done to it before selling it.

You pay more for brand new but it's better than buying something used and having it break again I always say.

Not sure why you need a new one but it doesnt cost much to relseeve one and the 440 kits come with the sleeve so just have yours done or by a used one and get it resleeved

It depends on what your using it for, IMO. If you're going to be sending it out to a machine shop anyway for a bore or sleeve or HD studs or whatever then used is fine.

A lot of parts on ebay are sold from actual business and motorsport shops. 2 of the three cylinders on there right now are being sold from Motorsporsts shops and are in good condition. The one being sold privately actually looks to be in good condition as well.

Yep I bought a used jug to avoid down time on my bike when I rebuilt the motor the first time. I bought a cruddy old 426 cylinder that had a jacked up sleeve for dirt cheap. I sand blasted the jug to bare metal because it was pitted/ corroding. Then I sent it off to have the old sleeve pressed out, a new 440 sleeve pressed in, honed, and HD studs. After that it was shipped to pappy to be coated. When it came back I sold my old cylinder for more twice as much as I bought the other one for and recouped some of the money I spent on the parts and labor.
