Stupid Question

Does a bigger sprocket on the front of the bike mean more top end and does a smaller sprocket on the back mean more torque. Or am I totally wrong? Thanks

bigger front = more top end speed/ less exceleration
Smaller rear= same as above

Smaller front = faster exceleration/ less top end.
Bigger rear= same as above
