sup guys i have a 2001 440ex. Im bacisally done with the bike and now it wont start. I think its a wiring problem. Bacisally if i take a screw driver and touch the 2 solenoid leads together the neutral light will come on but it wont crank the solenoid will just make a weird noise. When i try to crank it when i have the 2 touched the solenoid will also make a weird noise. Whats going on here? Is my solenoid bad? did i burn something out? I checked the fuses and they were good, and just to be on the safe side i put new fuses in. I have a aluminum airbox and i tried to ground it to that and the bike. I scraped some powder coat off the frame where the ground wire is suppost to be. Let me know. THanks.

Sounds like a selinoid. Also make sure you have the ground to metal.trace the wiring from the battery to the selinoid, look for shorts/burnt spots. also trace your ground to make sure it's ok. clean your contacts on the battery and selinoid.
