motor questions?

I just bought a 05 yfz 450 the guy that had before me just did trail riding. The motor is all stock the only extras is the pipe and jetting. Just ran across something about the motors blowing up. I do hare scramebles not to hard on it but could ridin hard. Should worry about this oil problem that causes blown motors. Please help don't want have to put a motor in it!!

I wouldn't worry about it. I did a wr swap and installed the Athena big bore kit without doing the oil mod. I haven't had any trouble with my bike.. Just change the oil 1 a week and clean the filter.

I race harescrambles with my 05. I bought it new in 05 have been ridding it hard every since then. Just make sure you change you oil offten and keep your air filter clean. I have somewhere around 100 hours and havnt even need to adjust my valve spacing yet!!

how well does the athena big bore run with the WR crank over stock. And how much does that set up cost?
