Dear brothers
i have read that 450 stock front shocks will fit my 400ex with a little grinding but what will adding the 450 a arms do? (if possible)
Also will a 450 rear stock shock fit my 400ex?
Thanks

I'm about 200#'s and ride mostly dunes.

well, i cant help with the a arm thing but i can say that both rear shocks are pretty much, if not, completely the same.

Last fall when I was looking into buying a 450R, I called TCS to see if my rear shock would swap over from the 400EX to 450R. They told me I could do it but it would cost as much to do that as it would just buying a new one to retrofit it. I don't know any more details as that was all I needed to know at the time.

The 450 Fronts is a popular upgrade, and although not perfect or anywhere near, it is much better than stock 400ex shocks. The arms will NOT fit. The rear shock on the 450R is shorter and valved/sprun way differently. It will bolt up, but wont be anywhere near correct at all.

Again fronts only will fit, and they require more modification than the honda ones.

I just put stock Suzuki LTZ 450 shocks on my 400 EX last night. All I had to do was a little bit of grinding on the top of the shock. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet.
