i have a stock z400 and i need just a little more power out of it.
is it worth anything to remove the airbox lid, and change the end cap on the pipe and rejet it?
i dont want a loud exhaust system on it.
i just need a little more power for climbing hills and playing on the mx track. this is not a race quad.

It makes all the difference in world! Like night and day! If it's done right. Pop the lid off and replace the filter with Prodesign intake or another brand just so you got the billett intake to clamp the airfilter down on. Rejett the carb, mine likes a 160 main stock needle and a 25 pilot jet. Then add a exhaust. If you dont want real loud then dont get a HMF. I really like this Whitebrothers E2. It comes with two different end caps. One for competion and one for the Parks. This z will run right up with my 450R. It want walk away from it but will hang with it all day long!

prolly know all ready but 13T front sprocket helps the low end allot. cheap easy to install and worth every penny imo.

yeah you will gain a very noticable amount of power from these few simple mods. you will be very pleased/surprised once you do it.

i did the mods these guys are talking about to my dads stock 2004 z400, and wow! really woke the thing up. much more bottom end pull and he can pull power wheelies easily now. very cheap and effective.

WHEN YOU BUY A JET KIT, DOES IT COME WITH THE PILOT JET?

The dyno jet kit for the comes with a pilot. Save yourself a ton of cash and buy the needle kit from Alba. You can opt for the pilot with this.
