When I was going to a basketball game I passed this what seemed to be nice looking GT stang. It was a either a 95-98. Is there anything particular I should ask this guy about or look for when buying this year mustang? Anything I should watch for?

after about 130,000 miles it starts to stop running, so if it has 100,000 miles on it, i wouldnt buy it. the mustangs dont really last that long (mileage wise...)

thats what i see....otherwise, they're great machines, just ask him how many miles the tires have, any rust underneath, paint chips, dents, dings, etc. every little thing you can point out, you could try to knock down the price each time you see something

Well the 95 is a 5.0. and the 96 + would be 4.6

I would look under it for any leaks.

See if its been wrecked.

If it has had the motor rebuilt. (probably should be rebuilt at 120k miles.

I would buy a mustang with 200k miles as long as it has been rebuilt. (or i was going to rebuild it)

And mustang motors will run forever not just until 130k miles....

1 more thing. Bring a magnet with you and run it along the body. Magnets don't stick to bondo.

I dont think the magnet is a good idea. Guy might get a little pissed if you scratch his paint while he is tryin to sell it :chinese: :bandit:

Just don't be a lame, obnoxious poser and buy a 4 or 6 cylinder version, that's my only advice. Everyone else has pretty much covered it.

Im pretty sure 98 would be the first year for the 4.6..... 97s and older still had the 5.0
