Are those front motor mounts stock 250r or what?Im picking up a r frame this week and i dont know if im gonna put my 350x motor in a r frame or my 385ex motor,im still up in the air.looks good:)
SWIGIN

they are 400ex mounts but the older RXs used the r mounts.
i think all you had to do was flip them around and maybe straighten them out a bit

Its a 350x motor out of an ATC350x....this was a conversion that was done before honda started making the 400ex...there are a few of these still floating around...swingin is running an HRE aftermarket frame where my quad that i'm rubuilding uses a modified stock 250R frame. These were some of the first hybrid quads....i cant wait to finish mine!

what did you get for a frame? are you chopping up a virgin 250R frame? or is it one thats allready been modified?

its a 250r frame fresh from the powder coaters. The frame is in great shape considering the age.its been reinforced already in a few areas. Its a good 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale.Im gonna try not to butcher it too much when i do this conversion but i do like the 250r handling so...

well when you do the conversion, you have to butcher the hell out of the frame....i've found this out from experience. I have a frame that someone tried to do without butchering it and it just didnt work. You'r going to have to cut out the lower frame rails and either lower them, or widen them (the new frame i have is widened)...then your going to have to make a new front motor mount, come up with some sort of a head stay, and make a new rear motor mount. Your also going to have to make a notch in the top right rail to make a relief for the oil line in the top of the head. Then once you get done all that your going to have to have the frame re-powdercoated.

Hi im new to this, but i'll ask you guys this. I have a atc 250r is there a kit that can make it into a quad or is it better to look for some kind of frame and transfer everything over. Thanks for any help or advise.

you'd be better off going over to http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com
and putting that trike up for sale, then take the money, and the money you'd spendon trying to get a TRX frame and buy a whole TRX250R.

If you want a frame to cut i have a decent frame that my 350x motor started in, its in real good shape but the lower frame rails werent widened so the motor didnt sit low enough...i can hook you up with that frame for a good price, and i'll send you all the motor mounts i have so you can see if you can get them to work. that way you dont have to cut up that pretty frame.
