If you use a 400EX axle on a 250R the cheapest route is to also use the threaded sleeve for the 400EX locknut. if you do not use the 400EX locknut you will have to change the rear brake setup.

I could not get the retaining clip to seat with a 250R antifade or OEM 250R locknut setup on my RPM 400EX axle. Take a look at the list of parts I had to use.

The axle came with the wheel hubs and sprocket hub.
400EX wheel hubs (I tried my 250R hubs but they did not fit because of the spline difference)
400EX antifade (or rear disk hub and locknut assembly)
400EX rear rotor
400EX caliper
400EX caliper mount
YOU will also need a longer brake line since the 400EX caliper sits farther back.
