Im picking up a white ltr next week sometime, and ill be ording a few things right away to get it ready to race... and i cant decide what nerfs i want.. i love the rath, but im a little worried about the net heel guards ripping. AC is alright in my opinion thats probably my second choice.
i like ims but way to expensive. I want black so ones that offer black. glossed or dull dont matter.

are there any other companies that make nice nerfs with heel guards? what would you recommend?

Id say Rath....and I would be more concerned with other brands heel gaurds cracking then the Rath nets ripping!

I bought those exact Ac nerfs. they only made a few and sold out fast. The welded them together last week and poweder coated them this past thurs and friday and they will ship on monday. I am really looking forward to putting these on. The AC nerfs I have now dont have the heel guards so it makes me a little nervous when racing. Also I will be selling those ones when I get my new ones in. The are brand new and only used really only 3 times. They are the AC blackline nerf without the heel guards. $200 includes shipping

how well do the powder coated parts hold up ?....are they a bad idea for xc? do they look like hell after a few scrapes against some trees and rocks....i love the way they look, but worry about how well the coating holds up to abuse.

I am getting them with the powder coat cause it will match my bike but I have seen them after a few rough rides and they look like crap. The powder coat does not hold up at all. IMO

I put AC Blackline Pro-pegs on my LTR last summer. They look good, no probs with heel guard or anything else. They are available at http://www.magicracing.com/AC-BlackLine-Pro-Peg-Nerf-Bars--LT-R450-06-Silver_p_386-2346.html for $239.95.

I would go with the raths because the ac's hit my heel and dont let my foot pivot and its not too comfortable to ride like that. The Rath nets are thick as heck and I dont think they would rip.

the only problem ive had with the AC blackline is the fender brackets...ive had to get mine welded back together twice

I just put on Black pro armour nerfs with the fat pegs and heel guards. The fit was great and I really like the looks. Here's a pic.
