I just snapped a motion pro clutch cable. I do have a longer steering stem (+1) and I'm wondering which cable I should go with. It's the second motion pro I've snapped.

i saw in here a while back where someone used a 300ex cable cause it was a little longer . you could check into that.

A 250x/300ex "Honda" clutch cable is the hot setup. It will outlast a motion pro, and plus it routes down along the frame rail rather than going between the headers. I also have a plus 1 stem and it works great. I'll get u some pics if needed

I sort of know how the 300ex cable routes bigfish. But if you have some pics post em'. Also what'd you anchor your cable to the frame with?

also bigfish, what year if it matters?? also should I get an oem or motion pro?

The honda cable is better. It will last longer than a motion pro, but also costs more. The cable is a 87-92 250x/93-present 300ex. Here is a pic.

lol I took ur advice all for hondas.

I ordered a 300ex cable today from C@D, hopefully lasts longer than the motion pro.

Is that chrome on your side covers? What kind of coating is on your header? Can you post pics of those? Thanks!

bigfish, my cable came in and it won't fit! The rubber around the cable leaves about 6 inches out of the clutch and there's no tension! I'll try to get pics, what did you do different?

400exMO I had the same problem heres what I did with that 300EX cable ! works the very best !

im going to be doing the same thing as i am about to snap my second motion pro. does anything have to be done to the 300ex cable to make it work, or is it pretty much the same as a regular 400ex cable except routed differently?
