piston or cylinder?

I went out and started my ex and warmed it up a little, and then if i rev it past half i hear a noise that i dont hear before coming from the engine. is this normal untill its completely warmed up?

i went back out and started it and it didnt do it this time

Could be the cam chain. When it first starts after sitting for a while, the head and chain dont have much oil on/in them.

If it ony happens during warmup, then i would bet one that

yeah its more than likely the cam chain posibly the valves are hitting a little harder than normal
