bar clamp help with renthal bars

I have got some new renthal bars and I am using stock bar clamps. However when I have fitted them there is a small gap of about 5mm on each clamp. I have posted a pic for you to look at. Please can someone tell me why this is?

put the handlebar on and snug the clamps down, tighten the front bolts a few turns then the rears, but turn the rears a turn or two less than the fronts,make since so far, hopefully at this point you should be able to bottom out the fronts all the way,then tighten the rears, try and roll the bars back and forth after finished, this is what i do.

otherwise if the gap is still a concern you can shave a little of the front top clamp.
