ok i am building a mild race motor for my 13 year old to race this season. i am in the process of building him a 300ex. so far it has denton plus 2 400ex a-arms that will have custom works shocks with no shock relocator, also has 400ex lonestar plus 4 axle, tusk nerfs, rear beadlocks, fly handlebars, front razr 20 inch tires, rear 18's. so for the motor, i bought an extra head off a member here. had it rebuilt with kibblewhite valves and springs, port and polish by a top pro motor builder, wiseco 11 to 1 60 over piston, right now a fmf pipe but will go to a sparks soon, also have a tusk heavy duty clutch and springs to go in it too oh and a 400ex carb. thinking about the new hot cams cam. anythng else i might need to do and am i leaving anything out i need to replace.

The stage 1 Hot Cam doesn't have much lift. I like White Brother and Web. They have 4 or 5 cams to choose from, for his riding style.

Removing the rev limiter from the cdi will make a difference too.;)
