Thats the width you can expect from Herrmann a-arms. If you own a different brand of +3's they might be a little wider or narrower. Just because a company states they are +2 or +3 it doesnt necessarily mean they are in fact that. They may only be +2.5 or so. And wider isnt always better. You need to have a low center of gravity for it all to work well. I personally use the TCS shocks which have zero Preload. A PEP ZPS style shock also has a lower center of gravity. I believe Elka SSD also does. But like if you have normal shocks like say for instance a Works triplr rate with +3 a-arms it will not sit as low as it should and would in turn make it more difficult to control in turns and banking.
