where on my elka front shocks can i adjust my ride height? i just put them on, and they are awsome, just seem to sit a tad too low. i bought them used and had c&d revalve/respring, they did a fantastic job.

does anyone else think the front seems a bit too low or am i just not used to aftermarket shocks?

thanks

looks pretty good to me, can you get a straight ahead view, sorta hard to tell sideways

It is hard to tell from the angle if your are sitting right or not. As for adjusting, the threaded portion of shock near the top is going to have a retaining ring with a small allen-wrench pin in it. This ring can be turned both directions, just like a nut on a bolt, adjusting ride height up or down. To answer your other question, aftermarket shocks ride quite a bit lower usually which is part of the reason the quad handles so much better.

Here is a picture. The blue arrow shows the ring I am talking about and you can see how the shock body is threaded. The yellow/green arrow is trying to point to the little lock-pin thing that needs to be backed out before adjusting, then put back in to hold it in place.

What 04TRX400EX said. Elka suggests having the rider sit on the quad and adjusting 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher (or close to) in the front ride height compared to rear ride height which is checked at the footpegs.

7 1/4 is about the lowest I would go for MX!! I would never run that low for XC. I would do at least 8 rear and 8 1/4 front... jmo

He is correct 8 in the rear 81/4 to 81/2 in the from on a std travel setup is about as low as you want to go with sacrificing ride quality

A ride height that low with tires that big will leave hardly and shock travel left!
