Does my sprockets flat side face toward the motor or do the numbers and the edged side face the motor? Also do I need that little clip that goes on the end of the shaft that the sprocket is held on by.

is that a stock sprocket?if so then yeah the flat side faces in toward the motor and you do need the 2 bolts and the hold down plate to secure the sprocket.

No its a JT sprocket and I put it on with the numbers facing the motor because I looked on the stock one and it said back on that side but there is some slack when I tightened it down all the way is that normal? I mean I can move it a little with my hand and I was just wonderin.

No I couldnt figure out how to put that clip on because I thought it mounted through the groves. But it mounts in that place I thought a c-clip went. You turn it to where the sprocket cant slide out its grooves are opposite of the ones the sprocket. Im glad to hear that the slack is normal. It just seems wierd that theres that much slack and its ok.
