View Full Version : I need TRX 90 Engine...help?

So i'm working on a project, small bike.

I have ridden a 2003 Trx 90 few times...small engine, quiet, auto clutch, and its honda.

trx90 is 250lbs + rider (another 150)

And it moves pretty damn good, and fast.
So that is why i want to get this engine.



Where is the best/cheapest place to get trx90 engine?

There is a local honda dealer just down the block, first time i went there and i told them i need trx90 engine...they told me "too bad, we don't sell engine, you gotta bring and rebuild what you have"

Next day i call and talk to the manager, he said "Dude i can get you ANYTHING you want," he was pretty cool. As I remember he said it will cost something like $1400...not cheap.


I been looking on ebay forever...can't find trx90 engine.

Any help?

A buddy of mine has a 93 trx 90 that runs like a champ but needs wheel bearings I'd bet he'd sell the whole quad pretty reasonably, pm me if youre interested

I would love to buy a complete atv, but its not a smart idea, what am i gonna do with rest of stuff that i don't need? and pay for shipping?

Maybe he can sell the engine?

I really don't want to get used engine, specially old engine, but if the price is right, why not.

I think its the same motor as a crf50/70 with a bigger bore, so any pitbike motor should work

its a xr50 dirtbike engine with a big bore pretty much

check out www.tboltusa.com or many of the pitbike companies, you can buy lifan or gpx style 90-125cc engines for $450 or less! and they will bolt into the 90 chassis

There are many lifan engine on ebay going for cheap, but i dont want cheap engine that gonna brake down on me o nthe 2nd day


Are GPX's good engine?

Auto clutch?
