i dont race but what i ride its baisically xc/trail type of stuff some sand pits here and there. i like to jump (not huge jumps, but im working on it)

i dont know what i want for a bike i like the 450r but dont know if i need all that power and if its to snappy and to much clutch work for my type of riding. so im torn between a 450r or building a nice 400ex. gettign a cheap 400ex completely redoing it with xc long travel suspension and what not, maybe 406 bore, pipe, and baisic bolt on stuff. and i could always down the road put a 450 motor in it or something cause i would already have the nice setup. so what do you guys think i should do.

buy a 400ex. and a 406 bore is mainly used for when the motor needs a rebuild, it is not typically used for performance. the 400 sounds just right for what you need.

i love honda but what u said right there is the same as what i do every day.i got a predator and it is one of the best handling machines ive ever had.and it can climb some nasty steap hills.400ex is nice but its a little under powerd for the big hills.not much though.just consider the predator

Sounds like you want the 400. If you have already rode a 450 and don't want/need the power a 400ex will be good for you. Are you getting a newer one with reverse?

well if i get the 400 its gunna be the best deal i can find so hopefully it will have reverse cause its always nice. but as far as being already settled on the 400 that changes every day hahaha so tomarrow it could be the 450 thats why im having such a hard time deciding
