Yes, but it will be a different bend and won't work properly, the cases are built different.

Are you sure about that?? I tried a stock 450r shifter on my ex and it wasnt even close. the hole was much larger on the 450 shifter than the shaft. Maby someone can clear this up.

I had a friend swap them (he has 400ex and a three 450rs :p ) and he said it fit, just that the bend of the shifter didn't work, it was too "inward"

hmm thats wierd. I tried a stock shifter off my friends 450 and the hole was way too big. who knows.
