400ex Good?

Is the 400ex a good motocross bike for competing with the 450's?

With extensive modification and a lot of money... it should hang with a piped 450, but other than that no. I am very fond of the frame geometry and the whole feel of the 400ex over the 450, but the power is not even close

power is nothing if you dont know how to use it, of course a 400ex can be competetive with the right rider, the best thing you can do is learn how to ride to your best ability and how to use the power you have, I rode at the weekend and showed a clean pair of hells to quads costing four times what i have spent on mine.
