clear coating plastic ??? dull plastic

have some dull areas on the plastic from overspray degreaser.
does degreaser take the shiny finish off your quads?
has anyone tried clear coating?
does it end up flaking off?
can you tell its been done?
i know about all the products for shiny plastic but its only temperarly. once you take the shine off the rest of the underlying layers are dull right ??

i think i really screwed up the plastic w/ the degreaser unless its just normal wear ?

ok none of the following statements are from experience BUT

i would figure you could definatley see a difference on where you did and didnt spray the clear coat, what degreaser was it i use simple green all over my quad and it doesnt seem to hurt anything, idk id say just get over it, its gonna get scratched anyways,... ;)

wd40 makes it shine. If you run torch it it makes it looke shinny.
