on the z-400 the kawi version was the same just different plastic, or so I thought, so I assumed that the 450r would be the same, but since there are two diffent forums for the suz and kawi, I thought I would ask what (if any) the differences are besides plastic. different cam? compression ratio? wheel base? suspension travel?

thanks

The only similarities in design between the KFX and the LTR is they have 4 wheels

oh, I thought that the had the same motor.....and the suz had an aluminum frame. cool guess the kawi is faster then, since it has less weight

The kawasaki is 4 pounds lighter than the zuke in dry weight. Both also hold the same amount of gas. But yea, the 2 are entirely different bikes, as that one guy said kawi and zuke broke their model sharing. That's why you don't see the kfx400 in their lineup anymore.

Someone in another post that works with aluminum, seemed like they knew what they were talking about, said that it was probably stronger than the conventional mounts.

alot of design from other companies? well, aren't all the 450's pretty much the same now, just with little tweaks that make them different. i still like to think that Cannondale is who made all this possible, regardless of what other's think. If it wasn't for them, there probably wouldn't be a YFZ450, let alone all the others!

Yea considering how saturated the 450 class is today how can you say that one company is taking an idea and implementing it into their own work. Considering that if they weren't to do that they wouldn't be the norm of the actual class, and by doing so puts them at the end of the pack? It's a good looking bike and on paper it sounds good. Let's try not to belittle something that we havn't ridden yet.

That is very tue that what cannondale did was the start of the revolution, and it's sad to see what happened to them, good point. The best innovation today that I've seen so far has been the outlaw, and more lately the 525 with that beautiful engine. Sorry to thread steal for a second, flame on.

This looks like another awesome quad. I hope that the rumored KTM is even better. Not a fan of any brand here, but each time one of the mfg's makes improvements, the other's do something on their next year model to improve it. The competition is good for everyone!!
