hey guys i have a z400 carb and i was wondering if anyone ever attempted to use it on the 400ex as a modification???? any results im curious

It probably would fit, you will probably need a z400 throttle cable and maybe bore the intake boot (if bigger sized carb). I'm assuming it's a Mikuni, so have fun figuring out the jet size needed. ;)

im sure you could make it work but i dont know if it would be worth the time and effort

Why not use an 04 450r carb? They have already been proven to show awesome gains even on a stock machine, and there is tons of info in this forum on how to do it.

I bought mine on ebay for around $100 and then I bought some jets under $20. Well worth it imho.

well u said 04 450r carb and i see a deal on the 05 carb.........is there any difrencebetween 04 and 05? and would it be bad going with the 05?

nope, 04 and 05 are the same carb. an 06 carb would be great, but alot more money. in 04 and 05 they had a round slide carb. great gains all around when using that carb. but in 06 they switched to an FCR carb, which is jsut awesome but quite a bit more money
