anyguys have modded xboxs?

Just wondering if anyone has modded their Xbox..the first xbox, i'm poor :)... Just wondering what the point is..like what it actually does

i dont, but from what i understand, it speeds them up, gets rid of any lag they may have, or just the little bugs. also you can get clear, colored and lighted cases to make it look cool, seems like a waste of money to me, but i guess if thats what you into, cause i know alot of people think we waste money on quads

Modding is just the first step in having a great XboX........Its not a waste of money.....If you add a bigger hard drive to you xbox you can dowload all the Games THAT YOU BOUGHT onto your xbox and never have to use a CD again.

i know of people that play forza motorsport taking apart their xbox and somehow plugging them into their computers and photoshoping paintjobs on their cars

Alot of people also mod them so they are able to play games that you download and dont pay for... Im not saying this is right or condoning this, but I've seen it done.

yeah i play halo 2 and not to brag im not too bad either and ppl with modded boxs SUCK. theyre cheaters they put in programs so they move 20 times as fast and can do all sorts of stuff, play legit and hit me up if you wanna play some time, jkcatch22. i know alot more about it but thats the jist of it they do it to cheat.

In my opinion, the XBOX should come from M$ just like a modded box. I have an XBOX with an executer2 chip in it, with a 160GB drive, running Xbox Media Center and I couldn't imagine having a plain old XBOX these days.

how do i download my games i bought for my 360 soo i dont need a disc!? is it just as fast as having the disc in? thanks alot!

My favorite part about my modded Xbox is file sharing with my PC. With it networked, I can watch movies on my Xbox, that are saved on my PC, same with Music. I also have a Sirius patch, that allows me to log onto my Sirius account with my xbox.

Expect to pay about $150 for all of this. The chip is about $50 and the drive is ~$100. Of course the drive can be much cheaper depending on the size and the drive that you purchase. XBMC is free pending you know how to install it. Xbox media center will let you play videos off the net, it ties into my home network and pulls music and videos off of my fileserver. It has a ton of capabilities.

If you want this done, there are a ton of people around that are modding them. Just ask around and I am sure you will find someone that can "Pimp" your xbox.
