wow, thats awsome, hows the vibration?

Its not as bad as everyone that has never ridden one says. Even the test riders that rode them were surprised. The only time its bad is sitting on pavement and reving the motor hard. There are alot of little things I did to reduce vibs.
Just got back from Glamis and with paddles in the sand these quads rip.
I even put rekluse clutches in two of them and that makes handling the power even better.

Since you have three and I've got zero I figure it's only fair that you send me one.

;)

Nice rides. I love that generation of CR250R engine. I've got one in a 95 CR and it seems like it can do no wrong.

I also have one that is made from a lonestar chasis with propegs fresh poder coat candy blue with elka skocks that is not complete if anyone is interested.

It will be chassis, subframe, motor, carb, electronics, thumb throttle, pipe and silencer, airbox, shocks and swingarm. I can even throw in a new set of stock a-arms if wanted. This way you can finish it off how you prefer with what ever aftermarket goodies from a 400ex you would like. 3200.00

how much?

in the 2nd to last pic the pipe looks HUGE!....very nice 250rs, i would love to have a service honda 250r one day!

the pipes were custom built on the dyno just for the cr motor, that is a fmf and it has a bit more bottom end. The pro circuit is thinner and alittle longer more like the original 250r and revs alittle higher.

how do those compare to the original 250rs? Power? Handling?

its a cr motor in a 400ex frame, right?

1fastprototype

yes 2001 cr 250 motors in 400ex chassis. The lonestar chassis is just 400ex geometry. These motors are power valved and put out 45 to 47 hp with no mods. With all of the aftermaket bolt ons {a-arms,shocks,axle,swingarm,tires] they handle and perform just like any other quad you build from the ground up.

1fastprototype. Would you like to share any of your vibration reducing mods. It is interesting that you say it vibrates most on pavement i never really thought that the surface would have much effect on vibes. How would you compare the level of vibration to a production 400ex. I am very interrested in the possibility of modern two stroke power I just dont want to ride a machine that shakes and rattles all the parts loose.

Those quads are so sweet! they are also super clean

they are very nice. the one with the stock 400ex yellow plastics got my attention the most. on an estimate what is the price tage on one like that?

The vibration is a little more than my 440ex I built. But I have raced them 2.5 to 3 hours at a crack with out any problems. They are much better in the wet and or severe muddy conditions than the original 250r. They run much better in deep water crossings than the originals also.

I am building another one now out of all my extra parts with the lonestar candy blue chassis and yelleo plastic that I will let go for 4000.

I have also built these with cr500 engines and the 250 is nothung like that. The 500 rattle your teeth and you can't keep anything tight cause they vibrate apart. There is no comparison.

Any one that has built a cr 500 motor quad will surely agree with me.
These 250 qaud are a blast to ride with very little maintenance.
The motors are explosive on power yet controlable and always start on the first kick.

i want a service honda 250r so bad, i remmeber seeing their CR500 aluminum frame bike at a rae before, that bike was awsome! the owner of it cleared a 80 foot table top in 2nd gear!

It will have elka shocks all the way around that are built just for this machine. It will have a set of used propeg nerf bars and the rest will be stock 400ex parts. The motor is all brand new including cylinder and head that have never even been started. The motor and electronics are are 2001.

This qaud is a lonestar chassis, lonestar subframe, fmf 909 handle bars, ac cross country wide rear grab bar, elka tripple rate front shocks, ohlin dual rate rear shock, gibson pro peg nerfs, fmf fatty pipe and silencer, and I will put maxxis tires on it all the way around with a choice of white plastic or yellow. All for 4000.00.
And I will be traveling from Illinois to Alabama in a couple weeks if someone close or around that route is interested.
