Will this work with an aftermarket stem?

If it's the same size diameter as the stock stem.I have a Tag stem and it works on it.I know a houser stem is smaller in diameter.

How long until it needs to be rebuilt??

I don't believe there is a set time when you have to rebuild them.Whenever you have to rebuild them,it's because the seal is leaking.This doesn't leak and works great.
