I am building the EX for summer. Right now the sleeve is with colby getting bored for a 416 JE 10.8:1 piston.

I'm doing thinner gaskets to get it to 11:1.

Stage 2 hotcam

Has full FMF exhaust (loud as heck)

K&N with no airbox lid

What rev box should I get? I don't have a lot of money to put into it, I see white bros is only about 60 on ebay but I would also like to buy from Colby if possible.

Which one and how much?

Thanks

Greg

stock up on batteries if you buy a wb, big gun, or any of the others that are just re-badged xr250 cdi's...you'll be needing them

My experience: I ran a WB for years and never had a problem. I also live in a warm climate and kept the battery hooked up to a tender most of the time. Did that make a difference? I suppose it did since many report starting problems yet I never did [shrug].

What about the power, can you really feel the power they add?

i felt a lot more power when i added the alba rev box with a stage 2 cam but when i put my stage 1 back in i felt the stock had a better curve so idk.

Search this please....

GT Thunder

TC Racing

The only two you should even consider....

every other one to my knowledge (with the exception of the dynatek and other programmable ones) are just xr250 ones and they will eventually cause starting problems.

Thank you very much for that info.

I did search but I didn't know those were the best brands.

Thanks again.

If the rev boxes are just rebadged xr250 cdi's then why does installing one allow me to start my quad in reverse?

I didn't know xr250's had reverse on them......

They don't...that's why. Take a look at Procom Magnum also, mine works perfectly, I haven't had one starting problem.
