oil question

i changed the oil today for the first time (its the quads first oil change after the break in) on my 2005 TRX 450R and when i put oil in i filled it till it went to the H mark on the oil window, but when i started it the oil level dropped from the H mark to in between H and L, is this normal on idle? or should i add more oil?

Its normal. Its dropping because the engine is running, and it's circulating. Once shut off, it will raise after a few minutes.

Once you shut it down the oil level will be a little lower. I just would top it off to the H.

Mine does the same thing. When it is running the oil level goes down, turn it off wait a sec and it will go back up. I think it is nomal

in the owners manual the proper way to check the oil levels on the engine and tranny side is to warm the quad up for a couple minutes and than shut if down and wait a minture so it settles... than that will be the "true" level.
